Words Within

Our Free Resident Artist Reading Series

Can’t get enough of our Resident Artists? Neither can we! In our free reading series, Words Within, our RAs produce staged readings of plays that complement our running season – whether it’s other plays written by the same author or exploring similar themes.

At Words Within, you get a front-row seat to the creative mind. The RAs are responsible for choosing, casting, and directing the play readings, so they can let loose in ways you’ve never seen them do before. Treat yourself to a fun, free night of theatre and join us!

All donations from Words Within benefit the Artistic Freedom Fund, which provides our artists with funding to pursue artistic projects.

Dates and plays are subject to change.

Bloody Poetry | August 26, 2019
By Howard Brenton
Directed by Frederick Stuart

An elegiac and fiery play about poetry and failed utopias, Bloody Poetry follows Percy Bysshe Shelley and Lord Byron, and their lovers Mary Shelley and Claire Clairemont, into exile and stages the famous biographical events of the writers’ lives – the meeting of Shelley and Byron and the stormy night when Frankenstein was conceived.
