The Show Must Go On Monologue Festival
We are delighted to announce the return of The Show Must Go On Monologue Festival! The festival is open to students in grades 9-12 and encourages participants to engage with classic text and think critically about how they define a classic. Of the submissions, 8 finalists will be chosen to perform live and in-person on A Noise Within’s stage on Wednesday, November 8 at 6 pm! All finalists will receive a financial prize of $250!
We hope that the festival inspires you to choose a challenging piece of text to explore and share the richness of the classics—whether they have been recognized as such for generations or are soon to join the ranks thanks to their timeless themes. Think: true yesterday, true today, true tomorrow.
Participants will submit their entry including their monologue selection by September 27.
Participants must submit their self-tape by October 11. Their submission should include their one-minute monologue as well as a one-minute explanation of their process, including research and work done in preparation.
8 finalists will be chosen and announced on October 18.
Once you have been approved, you will receive an email with instructions detailing self-tape submissions, so please make sure your email is correct in your application.
