John Ballinger

AT A NOISE WITHIN:

2021-2022 Season: Original Music Composition & Sound Design, All’s Well That Ends Well.

Previous Seasons: Original Music Composition, Sound Design, & Music Direction, Cymbeline.

John is an award-winning composer and musician from L.A. Songs/scores of his can be heard in theatres, on albums, TV, and films. His touring/performance credits include Rufus Wainwright, Tracy Bonham, Moira Smily, Dancing With the Stars, and The L.A. Master Chorale. John has been active in theatre and has composed, created sound design, and played in pits and/or musically directed for over 100 productions on both coasts. Venues include The Geffen, South Coast Rep, Signature Theatre/The New Group (NY). Feature film scoring includes 3 Days With Dad starring J.K. Simmons, Leslie Ann Warren, Tom Arnold, and the late Brian Dennehy. He played guitar, clarinet, and percussion for Sean Penn’s latest feature film, Flag Day. John teaches commercial music composition, mixing, history, and software at CSULA.
