What are the application requirements?
We require applicants to be between the age of 13 and 19 at the start of the program. We also require that applicants be available for all program dates and have a reliable transportation option to and from the theatre. Otherwise, we welcome applicants of all backgrounds, including applicants with limited or no previous theater experience.
Is previous theatre experience required?
No, previous theatre experience is not required. However, a demonstrated appreciation of and interest in theatre as a potential career path is required. This may include acting, stage management, directing, playwrighting, theater design, and any of the roles that contribute to the theatre-making process.
Is this an acting class or performance opportunity?
No – the Theatre Immersion Program is neither an acting class nor a performance opportunity at A Noise Within. It is a program centered around learning through exposure, observation, and conversation. You will spend extensive time observing rehearsal and debriefing with the group before and after observations.
