FAQ

What is the class schedule?

Doors open at 9:15am. Classes run from 10am – 4pm from Monday to Friday for the five weeks of the program. There are no classes on Juneteenth (June 19). Participants are expected to attend all classes and rehearsals, and any planned absences such as family vacations should be communicated ahead of time.

Do you offer pre-care or post-care?

Yes! We provide free pre-care from 9:15am – 10:00am. We offer post-care for a small fee from 4:00pm – 5:00pm.

How does casting for Julius Caesar work?

First and foremost, the ensemble is of the highest priority at Summer With Shakespeare. We work hard to equitize stage time by prioritizing ensemble work, singing solos, and movement solos in addition to the Shakespeare text. Auditions will occur on the second or third day of camp; a few weeks before Day 1, campers will receive audition monologue options selected by the director. Campers are invited to hold a copy of the script during their audition. These auditions help us guide your camper towards a role that suits their comfort level.

What do participants wear?

Middle School Intensive campers are expected to dress in clothing that allows for movement and can get messy. Campers must wear closed-toe shoes with a sole that are secure on the feet and are comfortable. No flip flops, sandals, short skirts, or very tight pants. Jewelry and hats must be removed for movement and combat classes. This level of readiness is extremely important.

Are tuition scholarships available?

A limited number of scholarships are available for Summer 2026; interested participants should complete this form in order to be considered. The deadline to apply for a scholarship for Summer 2026 is April 17, 2026.
