Summer With Shakespeare

Summer With Shakespeare 2022 is complete. Learn more about the program below and watch for Summer 2023 registration to open in early 2023.

In the summer of 2022, from June 13th through July 15th, our interactive Summer With Shakespeare blended hands-on theatre experience and good old-fashioned fun! We had swords, acting, improv, set and costume design, and all the incredible quality and enjoyment you’ve come to know and expect from us. Our program is open to all children ages 3-18. See below to see what we were up to, and as always, feel free to reach out to for any questions you may have!

SUMMER WITH SHAKESPEARE gives campers the opportunity to work with professional artists and technicians to gain an appreciation of Shakespeare’s verse, as well as a unique exposure to a variety of classic plays. Designed to challenge young artists to be scholars and performers of The Bard, this program enhances acting and public speaking skills, builds self-confidence, and offers invaluable experience in the crafts of the theatre.

Students will focus on:

  • Acting
  • Stage Combat
  • Mask Work
  • Voice
  • Movement
  • Stagecraft and Design

In order to keep everyone as safe as possible during Summer With Shakespeare, we will closely follow all ongoing public health guidance. If we should be required to make additional adjustments to our policy for public health reasons, we will communicate that to our participants immediately and clearly.

Before beginning Summer With Shakespeare, all participants ages 5 and up must provide proof of full vaccination, meaning it has been at least two weeks since their final vaccine shot. We are not requiring booster shots at this time, but that may change based on CDC recommendations, so please check back here for policy updates as we get closer to summer.

Acceptable forms of proof include:

  • Vaccination card or a photo of vaccination card
  • Healthvana (Mobile Wallet)
  • Email of vaccine proof

At the beginning of the week, all children under 5 must provide proof of a negative Covid test (PCR or antigen) taken no more than 72 hours before.

Masks are required regardless of vaccination status and will be available onsite until such time that LA County stops requiring masks indoors. At that point, masks will continue to be strongly recommended for all participants.

To ensure the safety of all participants, there will be a certified Covid Compliance Officer onsite at all times. We also guarantee that all ANW staff members, casts, and crews are fully vaccinated.
