Rick Mitchell

Dr. Rick Mitchell is an award-winning dramatist and theatre scholar whose books include Brecht in L.A.: A PlayDisaster Capitalism; or Money Can’t Buy You Love: Three Plays, and the critical anthology Experimental O’Neill. His scholarly writings focus on performance, culture, and social justice, and he’s currently researching a new play that engages with hurricanes, climate change, and the history of Puerto Rico. Mitchell has participated in theatre and Latin America/Caribbean-related National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminars for U.S. Professors in Buenos Aires, Argentina and San Juan, Puerto Rico, and he is Professor of English and Playwriting at California State University, Northridge.
