An oasis for those who love classic stories. Los Angeles Times

Mary Zimmerman’s

May 8–June 5, 2022

Based on the Myths of Ovid

Written and originally directed by Mary Zimmerman

Directed by Julia Rodriguez-Elliott

Primal storytelling and modern sensibility collide in a sensual re-envisioning of Greek myths, as gods and mortals alike endure love, loss, and transformation—all while immersed in a pool of water on stage. Swirling with passion, Mary Zimmerman (author of ANW’s award-winning Argonautika) creates this Tony Award®-nominated masterpiece that mesmerizes with tales of Midas, Orpheus, Aphrodite, and more in a whimsical and heartbreaking meditation on the joys and perils of being human.

Before being admitted into the theatre, all audience members must provide proof of full vaccination, meaning it has been at least two weeks since the ticket holder’s final vaccine shot. (We can exchange your tickets to a later date or give a full refund to anyone who has already bought tickets or a subscription and who will not be vaccinated by the time of their event.) Masks are required regardless of vaccination status and will be available onsite until such time that LA County stops requiring masks indoors. At that point, masks will continue to be strongly recommended for all our patrons. Social distanced seating is available. Learn more about our Covid safety policy.
