SWAN Day

Presented by LA Female Playwrights Initiative

A Festival of Women Playwrights & Directors in celebration of Support Women Artists Now Day.

Presented by LA Female Playwrights Initiative and A Noise Within with the participation of actors and directors from local theater companies, the day will include readings of short plays by Elizabeth Bluth, Victoria Goring, Leelee Jackson, Starina Johnson, and Penny Peyser as well as a number of 1-page Micro-Reads, plus time to eat, drink, and connect with female artists for future collaborations – the perfect way to Support Women Artists NOW!

Women Playwrights!  Plan on bringing one page of your work to the festival; we’ll feature as many as we can in a special version of our Micro-Reads. Read the guidelines here.

Readings begin at 2:30 pm. Doors open at 1:30pm. Free to all. No RSVP required.

And plan on continuing the SWAN Day celebration for opening night of Mary Zimmerman’s Argonautika: The Voyage of Jason and the Argonauts, directed by Julia Rodriguez-Elliott!
