Executive Summary

When we began this journey 20 years ago (hard to believe) we had no idea what an exhilarating ride it would be. We took the $3,000 we had saved in our bank account and decided to take a chance. This youthful, perhaps naive impulse was fueled by a passion for classical theatre and a hunch that there may be a void in Southern California that we could help fill. A Noise Within was born that winter of 1991 with our first production, William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark.

Throughout its history, A Noise Within has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the presentation and preservation of classical theatre in the region. A proven artistic entity with a track record of fiscal responsibility, A Noise Within is prepared to take an important next step in its development. Our project to build a state-of-the-art theatre and education learning center in Pasadena, championed by Mayor Bill Bogaard and other visionary civic leaders, will create a permanent home for the classics, enabling greater patron access, artistic flexibility and increased programming.

A Noise Within will finally be able to sink deep and lasting roots, serving the region by continuing to bring great classical theatre to adults and students for generations to come. Will you join us? Help us complete our home for the classics in Pasadena.

Sincerely,
Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Geoff Elliott
