Camps and Courses: Our “Smartest” Year Yet!

So much new, so little space!

Most exciting is the expansion of our super popular SUMMER WITH SHAKESPEARE program, which is now five weeks long, with two separate tracks for ability and age. I know it’s still early, but we expect to once again be completely full, so please spread the word—sign-ups are happening now. (You can learn more and register here).

We’ve also added a brand-new class for the very youngest actors (ages 6-9).  FIRST STAGE is just as comprehensive, fun, and skill-building as our other programs, but specially geared for the tadpoles. Since I love working with the budding young actors, I’m especially look forward to this new program, which starts in March. (More information? Please click here.)

Speaking of kids, both Figaro and The Threepenny Opera are perfect for students ages 12 and up. Whether they come with parents or our special student matinees, these lively shows will set young imaginations in motion!

Our spring interns are a most wonderfully talented and diverse group, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy getting to see their work on stage.

Our community outreach is very active indeed. We enjoyed an especially rewarding partnership with the Mayfield Senior School here in Pasadena, which began with a pre-show, all-school assembly. Then the entire school, teachers, students and administration, sold-out a student matinee of A Christmas Carol. Finally, we conducted  enriching arts-based workshops with their conservatory students on-site including dance, acting, directing, costume and set design–and I feel certain that careers in the theatre were that day born!

More news to come in February. Have a jubilant January, friends.
