Bon Voyage, Melissa and Anna!

By A Noise Within
August 17, 2017

We’re saying goodbye to two of our lovely ANW administrative staff members!  We’re sad to see them go, but we can’t wait to see what great things they accomplish next. Read more to learn about them, what they’re up to next, and what they loved about working at A Noise Within.

Anna Rodil | Operations Coordinator

What did you do here at ANW?

Well for the first two years that I worked here I worked as the box office assistant, eventually I moved upstairs to admin and became the Operations Coordinator. So, I do actor contracts, facility maintenance, office management and HR, and just whatever else is needed.

What was your favorite production you saw during your time here?

Probably Arcadia is one of my favorite plays. I also really loved Pericles, the design was one of the best that we’ve done here.

What will you miss the most about working at ANW?

I’m definitely going to miss the camaraderie of working with so many cool admin staff, and also the actors and the artists are so great and I’ve gotten to know them all so well. I’m also really going to miss the students, especially the Summer with Shakespeare kids, there are some students I’ve seen over five years.

What’s next for you?

Next, I’m hoping to move into a company that is on a bigger scale than ANW and maybe find a place to expand and build on all the skills I gained here.

Melissa Lin | Marketing and Development Coordinator

What did you do here at ANW?

I started in the summer of 2013 as the education intern, then became the Admin Assistant for a couple years, and then came into my position as Marketing and Development Coordinator. In marketing, I worked on supporting the director in creating digital and print collateral for the shows. In development, I worked on supporting the director as well as in coordinating special events.

What was your favorite production you saw during your time here?

I remember coming to ANW when I was in high school and being really in love with the shows I saw then because it was so incredible just being able to see live theatre. But, while here my favorite has probably been Pericles. It was right after my summer internship and I had worked on all the study guides for the play; it was the first show I really saw the whole process for.

What will you miss the most about working at ANW?

I think I will miss the people, both in terms of the people we work with as a staff as well as the production staff downstairs and the designers. Also, seeing the process go  from rehearsal all the way to on stage. I will also miss the patrons and their reactions to the plays and their great questions after the shows.

What’s next for you?

I’m not sure yet! It’s my first break since leaving college, so it’s the perfect time to reevaluate. Hopefully I will be doing something in the arts and in nonprofit still, but we will see.

Everyone at ANW wishes you both the best on your next adventures!
